Bio:

Chaka Chikodzi is a Zimbabwean-Canadian stone sculptor based in Kingston, Ontario. He works with volcanic rock from Zimbabwe where he began sculpting as a teenager and has a studio in Kingston and in Mvurwi, Zimbabwe.

Artist Statement:

Soapstone, alabaster, marble and limestone inspire me to create free flowing abstract sculpture that entice the viewer to engage both visually and through touch.

My sculptures transform themselves as light and shadow touch the smooth surface of the stone.  Each piece of sculpture is reimagined as the light of time ebbs and flows
